[ he's in the process of removing the old bandages when she returns, frowning as some of them cling to the stitches. as far as sword wounds go, though - it could definitely be worse. it spans his abdomen from left to right, clean, but deep enough to cut into the muscle. it mostly just hurts like a bitch, and kara's too proud to let it stop him - but he also knows wounds like this have killed men before, and that's the entire reason he's been forcing himself to slow down. ]
